Chuck Anerino’s interest in photography was born in 2004 with the goal of capturing and preserving the memories of his growing family. After much experimentation (including plenty of failure), Chuck mastered his command of the camera and began to create striking, unposed images that documented the small stories which defined his family’s life.
Using the masters of documentary photography as a driving force behind his work for the next few years, he launched The Family Photojournalist in 2009, the first online resource dedicated to Family Photojournalism.
In 2008, Chuck established Anerino Originals in response to ongoing requests from families who had seen his images. While his approach to each Family Session was unique (as each family’s story is different), Chuck’s core vision remained unchanged - Tell the Story.
Since that time, Chuck has expanded his range of work to include weddings and selected commercial projects. In 2011, Chuck ranked sixth worldwide with the Wedding Photojournalist Association. More recently, his photographs have been published by Steve Huff and Leica Camera: http://blog.leica-camera.com/2016/10/18/movement-and-grace-with-the-leica-m-monochrom/
When he’s not behind the camera, Chuck’s career has been in secondary education for the past eighteen years where he has worked as a Social Studies teacher, Photography teacher, and is currently a full time Dean of Students for a Philadelphia public high school. During this time, Chuck has created two high school photography programs and has inspired the next generation of photographers for the past eleven years. He is a proud husband and father to three sons, ages 7-13. You can see his personal work at www.growingupanerino.tumblr.com and follow him on Instagram at www.instagram.com/anerinoc
