ABOUT THE LEARNING LIBRARY
The DFP Learning Library was developed as a way to nurture and empower the documentary photography community and to ensure access to quality education that is within reach for all who are interested, regardless of their background and regardless of where they are at in their photography journey. We believe in creating a space where photographers of varying experiences feel supported, encouraged, and valued while also bringing our inclusive community kick-ass content so members can learn and grow from the best education possible. We believe in amplifying and celebrating the diverse range of photographers in the industry who want to teach and we are proud to offer a platform where they can take center stage to share their stories and knowledge.
Members of the Learning Library receive 24/7 access to all of the Learning Library content allowing you to dive into each subject any time it suits you.
Every month new content is added, so the Library will be continuously growing.
WHO IS IT FOR?
The DFP Learning Library is the place for you to continuously learn, transform, and grow. The content is varied to ensure photographers can evolve no matter their skill level or goals.
There is something for everyone! The Learning Library is for photographers:
just starting out in documentary photography
who have been in the genre for years
who want to have a successful documentary photography business
who already have a successful business and want to expand upon that success
who have other goals such as shooting personal projects or wanting to only document their own family
who want to push themselves creatively
who want to use photography as a way to create an impact on the world
who want to learn how to tell photographic stories in an ethical and meaningful way
who want to submerge themselves in listening to and learning from the voices of marginalized groups, sharing their authentic lived experiences
What types of content are in the learning library?
New content is added on the first week of every month and is a mix of content types.
Content Types include:
Interviews - Inspiring discussions with inspiring people.
Panel Discussions & Critique - Videos of a panel of photographers discussing a topic, critiquing photographs, critiquing websites, etc.
Tutorials - Video lessons that include things such as “How to Confidently Talk to Clients”, “Watch Me Edit”, “Behind the Scenes of a 2 Hour Session”, “Why this Photograph Works”, “Sequencing”, and “Culling”.
Crash Courses - A mix of written and video content, 4-6 sections within each Crash Course, with actionable steps you can apply.
Intensives - A mix of written and video content, 8-10 sections within each Intensive, with actionable steps you can apply.
How much does a membership cost?
Full access membership is just €20 per month! And DFP Listed Photographers pay ONLY €7 per month for their membership, as part of their listed photographer benefits.
